DNA links Adams County, Ohio Shiveley\'s to Kentucky Shiveley\'s

Ray Shively\'s DNA testing has verified what has long been suspected. Daniel Shiveley of Adams County, Ohio born about 1782 in Pennsylvania is almost certainly a son of John Shiveley, Sr. who died in 1839 in Pendleton County, Kentucky. The line has been tracked back to Jacob Schäublin born about 1650 in Waldenburg, Switzerland. This information is included here in this database. Daniel Schaublin, John’s grandfather, and his family and brother immigrated to Philadelphia on September 28, 1749 on the ship Ann. Alice Shivley Freed has done much of the research on the Kentucky family line. She has recently published a book The Family of Jacob Schäublin and Maria Martin, Waldenburg, Switzerland, 1650 and their Shively, Shiveley, Shivley Descendents.

Daniel SHIVELY is an exact 12 marker DNA match with me Raymond SHIVELY. He can prove his ancestor is Peter Shively born 1810 and Sarah who died 12-Aug-1881 in Ionia County, Michigan. They were married 10-Apr-1828 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. It is not proven but believe this Peter Shively was the son of Daniel Shively from Jefferson County, Ohio.
